  • Google has announced a new partnership with iFixit for Pixel repairs.
  • Google will make genuine Pixel parts available for consumers to purchase.
  • The program will open later this year in the United States, Canada, Australia, and select EU countries.

The company is making it easier to hold onto the phone, since it supports it longer than most other companies. iFixit will provide consumers and repair professionals with genuinePixel parts to repair their devices with, as a result of a partnership between iFixit and Google.

The program will be available for nearly all of the devices in the lineup. Customers can purchase the parts individually or as part of iFixit's Fix Kits, which include batteries, replacement displays, cameras, and more.

If this sounds familiar, it's due to the fact that a similar partnership with iFixit was recently announced by SAMSUNG. The partnership is an effort to promote better sustainable products.

100% of its hardware products are made from recycled materials, carbon-neutral shipments of its hardware devices, and the aim to achieve plastic-free packaging by 2025. The company highlights its repair initiatives, like a partnership with uBreakiFix for out-of-warranty repairs and its recent Chromebook repair program for schools.

There are bound to be accidents and potential battery issues with devices like the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro receiving up to five years of software support. It will help you get the most out of your device if you have access to the parts and told.

If we are going to build a sustainable electronics industry, consumers must have options to repair their own products. We are committed to enabling repairs at a place and time of your choosing, and iFixit already has repair guides for most of the Pixel devices.

Consumers will be able to purchase parts from iFixit later this year in the United States, Canada, Australia, and EU countries.
