Frank hadn't yet seen him train, but he predicted five days before he arrived that he could be the club's greatest signing. Since making his debut as a second-half substitute, he has done that.

The club was three points above the bottom of the table before the arrival of Eriksen. Since then, the Bees have won three of the four matches he has played in, with him missing their defeat atLeicester due to testing positive for COVID-19.

Looking at the numbers, they were going at a rate of 0.44 points per game in 2022 before Eriksen played; since his debut it has been 2.25 points per match in his four appearances. He scored his first goal for the club but also orchestrated a huge upset.

Frank was talking to the media after the match. He was talking about the work rate of Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo, but he was more focused on the performance of Eriksen.

Frank has already spoken of his hope of keeping Eriksen in west London with his contract up in the summer. Frank knows that with this fairy-tale story adding new chapters, there will be a lot of interest around Europe.

They talk about the previous match for 24 hours after the match is over. Then they restart. The thoughts of where Eriksen will be next season are at the back of their minds, but for the moment, they are reaping the benefits. The player they have got back is the one who lit up the international stage. There is a belief that he is better than ever.

The first day of training was February 8. He was familiar with the Danes from national duty. Both were in the squad for the Euros and were at Parken on the day that Eriksen had a cardiac arrest. Jensen was in that match.

There have been many significant events in the recovery of Eriksen. He had an ICD fitted a few days after he collapsed. He started running and kicking a ball again. He knew there was more to be done in the game.

At the beginning of December, he trained with his old youth side, Odense Boldklub, but his future was uncertain. Due to the ICD, he was not allowed to play in the league for Inter Milan. His departure was confirmed on December 17th, and clubs outside of Italy took notice. At the start of the January transfer window, he trained with the club he played for until he joined Spurs.

He was hoping to feature for the Danes at the event.

"I want to play," he said. It is a goal and a dream. It is not certain whether I will be picked. It is my dream to come back. I think I can because I don't feel any different. I am back in top shape. My heart is not a problem.

It was necessary for Eriksen to get minutes. Frank was aware that a player of Eriksen's ability could change the season. The final day of the transfer window was when they confirmed the signing of Eriksen.

In his first news conference, he tried to draw a line under the trauma of the seven months post-Euros, focusing on the future. He said that he was in better condition and that he could get back to his previous level.

He played in two behind-closed-doors games for the Bees and contributed three assists.

With time, it will be about the football and not the guy who did something last summer. I want to go back to that. I want to show that I'm still the same person.

He made his debut off the bench. In the 90 minutes at Canaries, Eriksen played a key role in two of the three goals, as well as being a key member of the team.

A tackle was the most memorable moment of the match. Brandon Williams tussled with Eriksen for a loose ball, sending the pair falling to the floor. Williams was somewhat riled by it, but quickly realized who the player underneath him was.

With a first win under his belt, the players around him were feeling the benefits of having him at the club. Captain Pontus Jansson said having Eriksen on the pitch helped the other players grow and it helped us to have him here.

First of all, we are happy that he can play football. He is a nice guy and a good person, but he is also one of us.

Next up on the list of achievements was the first assist from Eriksen, which came in a crucial 2-0 win over Burnley on March 12. The quality and composure in the final third was lacking. Toney was able to head home after a perfect cross from Eriksen. He threaded a neat through-ball for Toney to run on to, which ended up with Nathan Collins bringing him down for a penalty Toney converted.

Having the Danes in the team meant Toney had to stay focused at all times and be ready to pounce on opportunities.

Returning to the national team was the last milestone left. Nine months after suffering a cardiac arrest, Christian Eriksen made his international return on March 26 in Amsterdam against the Netherlands, and he needed just two minutes to score. He hit the post, but he was almost better than before.

It was the perfect way to start the comeback in international football.

He scored a wonderful goal and was the captain for the day against Serbia at Parken, the ground where he collapsed last June.

It was a special moment for Hjulmand, who was there back in June and again in March. I think we can get something even better out of Christian.

Frank half-joked that he wanted Eriksen to do the same thing for his club as he did for his country. In the 4-1 win over Chelsea, Eriksen was able to control the match despite being marked by N'Golo Kante. After six minutes, he had one beautifully weighted pass, and then his first goal for Brentford proved to be the winner.

Mbeumo turned Hakim Ziyech on the halfway line and Eriksen sprinted with him to offer an option. His movement helped him drift away from the defenders, and Mbeumo's pass found him in the middle of the box, where he scored his first goal. Mendy was hurt in the process, and Eriksen paused celebrations to check on the goalkeeper.

A look at his touches after the match had the feel of an all-court display. The length and breadth of the bridge was covered by 88 touches. He was in the middle of the action, looking for balls that were ambitious and slowing things down.

Frank said that Christian is a top player and that he is very pleased of that.

I think any footballer would like to play with even better players, because they raise their level, and they have the ability to find the safe pass and then the killer pass, which is something any team will benefit from.

Other teams are paying attention. After their win over Newcastle, Antonio Conte was asked if they would try to get him back.

Frank said that contract talks with Eriksen will step up at the end of the season but that they are looking to keep their distance from the bottom of the league.

It is as if he has never been away. The upcoming tournament in Qatar will cause all sorts of difficulty for the opposition, as Eriksen will be back in the thick of it for the Danes.

The last few months and weeks have been emotional and pleasing for me to be back playing, to score my first goal. Everyone has been happy with me and I am very happy to be here.
