Academy Bans Will Smith from All Events for 10 Years for Slapping Chris Rock

The Academy of Motion Pictures made Will Smith persona non grata for 10 years for hitting Chris Rock at The Oscars.

The Academy President and CEO said after the vote that Mr. Smith would not be allowed to attend any Academy events for 10 years.

He apologized for not addressing the situation in the room. We are sorry for this. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers, and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short.

Chris Rock was thanked by the Prez for maintaining his composure.

The Academy lied about asking Will to leave the theater after the slap, according to our sources. Will Packer told Will he could stay on the show.

The Academy was slammed for getting caught in a lie, so this hearing was the best way to make up for it.

Will resigned from the Academy after a bunch of his projects were put on ice.

Chris has been mostly mum over the whole thing, telling a crowd on his comedy tour that he was still processing things.
