If you have ever wished you could serve food all day long, you probably can. You will be able to do the next best thing, be solely responsible for keeping miniature versions of them alive. The TinyTan Tamagotchi is a version of the handheld game featuring the South Korean band. The full name of the group is called Bangtan Sonyeondan.
The new interactive experience with the beloved TinyTan characters, who are the adorable mini versions of the members of world phenomenon BTS, will be offered by Bandai America, according to a statement.
The TinyTan characters are based on the seven members of the group. The TinyTan crew has been around for a few years, it has merchandise, and stars in cute music videos.
Some of the things you will do with the TinyTan members include dancing. Through a mini-game called Make a Custard Tart, they can bake and serve their favorite foods. Depending on the games you play, your hair and costumes will change.
Do you think this means you could be responsible for the death of a member? I don't think so, but the press release contains a thinly veiled threat: keep your character's stress barometer low or they will go back to Magic Door. If you don't keep them occupied, your assigned member will use this door to leave your pocket and return to traditional BTS activities, like playing sold-out stadium shows in Vegas and hanging out with Jon Batiste. Which is fair.
If this sounds like you, you can pre-order the TinyTan Tamagotchi for $19.99. Units aren't hitting shelves until October so you need to occupy yourself some other way for the next several months. I will report back on whether or not I can hold my bandmember's attention.
