Last year, the first female rider to win the Grand National was victorious. Triumphed by six and a half lengths but has to carry more weight. The trainer thinks he is coming back to form after he pulled up in two races. Since Red Rum in the 1970s, only Tiger Roll has won consecutive times.

Tiger Roll was denied a fairytale farewell when he won the Cross Country Chase. It may have been difficult work in the heavy ground. The Irish Gold Cup was won two years ago. The leading contender for trainer who has won the race three times is Silver Birch.

Enjoy D&Allen won the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, but was pulled up at Cheltenham last month. Ballabriggs was sired by a son of presenting. The decision to withdraw Easysland and Phoenix Way helped this one make the final cut. A qualified pilot is flying over from Ireland.

It was a cracker to finish third last year after being badly hampered. His well-being was advertised when he beat out Escaria Ten in the Bobbyjo Chase. Trainer landed the National in 2000 with Papillon, under his son Ruby, and was third with Seabass 10 years ago. This time is not related to the jockey.

5. Run Wild FRED.
Jockey: Davy Russell.
Age: 8 Weight: 11-07
He has finished runner-up in six of his past seven starts, including the Irish National and last month's National Hunt Chase. One of several hopes for a trainer to win the big race for the fourth time. He missed last year's meeting while serving a suspension for sitting on a dead horse.

6. Lost in translation.
Jockey: Harry Cobden.
Age: 10 Weight: 11-06
When winning the Betfair Chase and finishing third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Talented but inconsistent recently, needs to translate the form of 2019. The trainer is bidding for a swansong success before handing over reins of his stables to his son. It would be an emotional moment for the family after Kim Gingell died from cancer two years ago.

Willie Mullins is a trainer and Brian Hayes is a jockey.

The most obvious of his prospects is that he won the race in 2005 with Hedgehunter, but this is not obvious and would benefit if the ground dries out. When stamina may have been an issue, finished down the field in the Irish National. The pink and green silks were worn by Rich Ricci and his wife.

The trainer is Martin Brassil and the jockey is Darragh OKeeffe.

16 years after Numbersixvalverde triumphed, the trainer seeks a second win. He had several of his Aintree rivals trailing behind when he won the Thyestes Chase. He seems to be at his best on soft ground. When the weights were announced for the race in February, the horse was mentioned as a horse with potential room for improvement.

I would take a second look at this one if I were a rich man. Only out of the first three times. It looked as though this longer trip might suit the runner-up from the past two runs. Joe's father resisted the temptation to go to the Gold Cup last month. The maximum number of letters allowed for the horse's name is 18.

Oli Bell is an owner. The trainer described him as a quirky individual. Mr Frisk set a record time in 1990. Two For Gold, who has won 10 of 19 starts, is at his best on soft ground. He needs to be sharper than when he missed the break after two false starts in the Topham Chase last year, where he knocked his rider out.

Despite the suspicion that his best days are behind him, he is still a two-time winner at the festival. I had some problems with my ears. Went to Any Second Now in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse last time out and it was the shortest distance possible. Max says his prep went well. Not beaten by far when third behind high-quality winner Galvin in the National Hunt Chase last season but was pulled up after tiring in the Irish National.

Had Lord Du Mesnil and Top Ville Ben behind when they won the Rowland Meyrick Chase in December, but they are better suited by the weights here. It's probably safe to discount the last run when seventh at Kempton. The trainer has won the National twice.

He was declared to run in the Topham Handicap Chase before Lord Du Mesnil withdrew. If he succeeds, I'll make a joke of it, but he doesn't stand out as the most obvious candidate.

Even if the stable has dipped below its usual strike rate in recent weeks, Trainer's runners aren't often dismissed lightly. Run Wild Fred was beaten by stablemate in the Thyestes Chase last year. The grey ran out of gas when seventh in the Irish National last year.

In last year's race, I ran well before tiring and finishing seventh. Tom Friel and Andrew Gemmell were at the festival three times. Friel is the landlord of a pub in Plaistow that is popular with West Ham fans. He met Gemmell when the Hammers fan came for a drink.

Robert Waley-Cohen bought a horse for his son to ride. There has been no seven-year-old Grand National winner since 1940, but the horse is a son of Yeats, who won the Gold Cup four times on the flat.

She would be the first female grey horse to win in 71 years. After sustaining a leg injury, and giving birth to a filly, Red Panda, off the track for 794 days before returning to racing in 2019. It was the first time thatmum had run in the National and the first time that Becher Chase had run over big Aintree fences. Is this the mother of all the victories for owner-breeder Marietta Fox-Pitt, the mother of Olympic equestrian rider William?

You might think this would be an appropriately named winner on the weekend of golf's Masters at Augusta. In the last 12 races, he has finished second five times. The trainer has won the National once before with Hedgehunter, and appears to have a better chance of doing it again with Burrows Saint. The jockey is riding for his uncle.

Jockey: Charlie Deutsch.
Age 10 Weight: 10-05
Commodore won by 15 lengths on his last run at Cheltenham in December. After sneaking into the line-up on Friday as a replacement for Phoenix Way, the grey Snow Leopardess was beaten by the well-touted fellow grey in 2020. The trainer who won with 100-1 shot Mon Mome tends to do well with soft ground horses.

Jockey: Tom O&Brien.
Form: P-22P2 Age: 9 Weight: 10-08
His record reads first, second, and third at Sandown. Three times this season, I was runner-up, beaten by a neck, nose and head. The trainer has come close twice, but hasn't won the National. Three times, the late Trevor Hemmings won the race with the team Hedgehunter, Ballabriggs and Many Clouds.

Well-fancied five years ago when he was an 8-1 favourite and finished fourth. It was brought down in the first year, but a creditable sixth in 2021. A total of 102 jumps have been completed by him. The last 13-year-old to land the National was Sergeant Murphy in 1923.

The trainer did win the Scottish Grand National with a 66-1 shot in 2008, but it takes another leap of faith for him to do it again.
