The completion of the electric vehicle manufacturer's new Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, was celebrated at the Cyber Rodeo with displays of drones and inflatable cacti.

More than 15,000 people attended the live streamed event where Musk was the main speaker.

The attendees were shown a 10-minute video featuring the factories, vehicles, machines, and battery packs of the firm before Musk arrived.

There was a display of drones in the sky near the factory, which created outlines of the shapes of Texas state, including the Cybertruck and Model Y car.

The bird's eye view of what was happening at the event was given by the camera in the livestream. There were food trucks and stalls.

Musk drove onto the stage and said that the first production car that he had ever built was the one he had just built.

Musk emerged from the vehicle with a black cowboy hat and sunglasses.

In addition to outlining the size of the Texas factory and its contribution to production capacity, the firm plans to build the Model Y compact SUV at Giga Texas, as well as the first Cybertrucks, which will go into production next year.

Musk said that he is working on a dedicated robot taxi, which is going to look quite futuristic.

At the end of Musk's speech, the chief designer joined the CEO on stage. They joked about smashing the window of the Cybertruck that was parked behind them, a reference to the metal ball stunt von Holzhausen did at the unveil of the electric pickup in 2019.

The Cyber Rodeo party continued into the night after the fireworks display over the factory.
