Ford and Lincoln owners can now personalize their Alexa commands

If you don't want to use standard voice commands, you don't have to use hands-free access to Amazon's voice assistant. Enhancements to Car Control allow for the teaching ofAlexa commands that reflect their natural way of speaking. They can teach the voice assistant to respond to a question like "I can increase the temperature by 5 degrees or turn off the AC" and then program it to do so. What should I do?

The assistant can ask the owner what they mean by "full blast", which is an example of a personalized phrase. When enhanced Car Control becomes available to them, all vehicles will have access to it.

The models with access to the hands-free experience at the moment are the F-150, Bronco, Mach-E, Edge, the new Expedition, and Navigator. The capability will come with the F-150 Lightning when it launches. Last year, Ford began its partnership with Amazon by introducing the hands-free voice assistant for its vehicles. The partnership will give its customers complimentary access to the Amazon service for up to three years after the vehicle's warranty start date.

The New York International Auto Show will feature Ford's enhanced Car Control and Alexa capabilities.
