According to the report, the wrestler's character is named Shepard and is a cop. Shep will be taking part in an officer exchange before he finds himself trying to take down a diamond-smuggling ring in India with an Indian police officer.
In addition to his starring role in Peacemaker, John Cena has also appeared in The Suicide Squad, F9: The Fast Saga, Bumblebee, Trainwreck, and Daddy's Home. Peacemaker was renewed for a second season, but it is not clear when it will start filming.
The officer exchange will be a reunion for John Cena and two of the producers of the show. The presence of The Safran Company on Officer Exchange is somewhat surprising since the company is usually behind Warner Bros. Pictures' major releases, including The Conjuring and its spinoffs. The Lost Kingdom and the Gods.
Officer Exchange is also set to be produced by Cena. The script has already been written by Ben Zazove and Evan Turner. Zazove and Turner collaborated on a comedy film called The Out-Laws.
