Donald Trump criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James for asking for a fine of $10,000 per day because he has yet to turn over documents that a judge had ordered him to by the end of March.

James asked the New York state Supreme Court Justice to fine the former president for his lack of cooperation in the civil investigation into the Trump Organization, which is looking into whether it broke insurance, tax and banking laws.

James wanted Trump to be held in contempt.

In a statement, Trump said he had been investigated more than Billy the Kid, Jesse James and Al Capone by Democrats.

Many people have said to me that I must be the cleanest person alive after having survived so many investigations. Trump said in a statement that nobody else could have survived.

According to the office of James, only 10 of the 900,000 documents received were from personal files of Trump. James claimed that Trump's lawyers could not find any documents requested in his subpoenas.
