Over the last six weeks, Russia has attacked health-care facilities and transport vehicles in Ukraine in violation of international humanitarian law, according to the World Health Organization.

According to the WHO Director-General, 73 people have been killed and 51 injured in the attacks.

Tedros said at a news conference in Washington that they are outraged that attacks on health care are continuing. The U.S. Health Secretary is in D.C. Tedros called the number of attacks a grim milestone.

Tedros called on the Russian Federation to stop the war.

The 42nd day of Russia's invasion has caused hundreds of civilian deaths and injuries in Ukraine, including dozens of children.

The WHO and the U.S. are working to keep the health system running in Ukraine.

Three weeks ago the WHO verified the number of attacks.
