Senate Republicans were powerless to stop Judge Jackson from being confirmed to the Supreme Court, so they tried to rain on her parade by airing grievances against her just before the vote.

The Republican senators held a press conference to explain why they wouldn't support Jackson.

Cruz expected Jackson to undermine conservative values, including free speech, religious liberty, and gun rights, as a Supreme Court justice. The line of attack GOP members of the Senate Judiciary Committee used during the nomination hearings regarding her handling of child pornography cases was continued by him.

She is an extreme outlier on the question of crime.

Graham, who voted to appoint Jackson to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit last year but favored Childs as the replacement for Breyer, repeated the debunked claim that Democrats blocked Brown from becoming the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.

The reason she is not the first African American woman on the Supreme Court is because they refused to allow her to speak. Graham said that they held her ideology against her and said she was too extreme.

According to a report by FactCheck.org, Democrats initially opposed Brown's nomination to the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, but Bush never nominated her for the Supreme Court.
