Unmentioning is a feature that will allow users to remove themselves from conversations. It is limited to some users and only on the web version, but it looks like a very useful way to clean up your mentions.

Unmentioning is a way to help you protect your peace and remove yourself from conversations. The company posted a picture of what the feature will look like.

How do you say “Don’t @ me,” without saying “Don’t @ me”?

The option to leave this conversation will appear on the menu in the lower right-hand corner of the web version of the social networking site. It also includes the options as well. If you click on the "leave this conversation" option, you'll see a menu that shows what happens when you leave a conversation, as well as a stop to notifications.

Jane Manchun Wong, a researcher and reverse-engineer, posted a picture of a feature in February. Her sleuthing proved correct.

It is a welcome addition to the platform that you can escape a conversation that may have become hostile, uninteresting, or that you didn't want to be a part of. You can make a graceful exit without a lot of fanfare.
