Get hyped up to see Tiger play at the Masters (0:45)

The Tiger Woods video will make you want to watch him play in the Masters. There is a delay of 0:45.

12:13 PM ET

Tiger Woods is returning to golf and playing the 86th Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, which is now a reality after almost 14 months.

Doctors considered amputating Woods' right leg after he was injured in a one-car crash.

At 11:04 a.m. Woods began the quest for his record-tying sixth green jacket and 16th major championship with two other men.

There are tee times, TV coverage, and how to watch Tiger's first round at the Masters.

Does he think he can win his first tournament after all he has gone through?

He said earlier this week that he did.

In his first round, we will chart every step.

The arrival

About an hour before his scheduled tee time, Woods arrives on the putting green.

No. 1: Par 4, 445 yards

Surrounded by thousands of patrons on the first tee, Woods didn't like his opening tee shot and muttered to himself as his driver went wide right and short of the fairway. He spun his approach back off the front edge after 175 yards. He rolled a 10-footer up the hill to save par after a so-so pitch shot. It was a big mistake for Woods to make since he is 16 over in his career.

No. 2: Par 5, 575 yards

This version of Woods has to plan his way around the place after he defeated Augusta National. No carrying or cutting corners. A young Tiger is on the second tee. Never. Now? Yes. A 3-wood off the tee and a layup left him in a good spot. The pitch was from 45 yards and left an uphill 16-footer. He failed to convert this time, as his attempt slipped by on the low side.

No. 3: Par 4, 350 yards

Woods opted for an iron at the short par 4 after his tee shot at the third. He left his approach shot short for the third time. The one settled on the edge of the green. He walked away with a third straight par after he left the putter short.

No. 4: Par 3: 240 yards

Woods leaving approach shots short was a theme. Woods missed his tee shot at the par 3. He kept the par train rolling with his 40-footer.

No. 5: Par 4, 495 yards

After his fifth hole putt, Woods started walking, which has been his nemesis. He is almost always right. He knows when he made it. He was wrong this time. He was certain that the 15-footer was in the center, but it slid and caught the lip. He settled for a point. Woods bogeyed the fifth all four days when he won the green jacket in 2019. When you think you made the 15-footer, it's not true.

The score was Par.

Even.

No. 6: Par 3, 180 yards

The club twirl was the first hint. Woods stared it down the entire way to the next. A perfect 6-iron from Woods was one bounce forward from a hole-in-one. Imagine the noise that would have come from the dogwood pines if that had happened. Woods was in red numbers for the first time at the Masters in 2022.
