According to Rolling Stone, Warner Bros. decided to stop all of the actor's projects due to his recent behavior.
Miller was arrested in Hawaii for disorderly conduct at a bar after having an increasingly bizarre series of public alterations.
After news of the meeting between Miller and the Justice League team got out, fans started debating the future of The Flash, the character they have played in Justice League that was set to get a DCEU spin-off. If Warner Bros. doesn't move forward with Miller, fans have a very specific idea of who will replace them.
Grant Gustin, the actor who has played the role of the speedster on the CW for eight seasons and 150 episodes, has just signed on for a ninth season. Fans are saying that Gustin deserves a chance to shine on the big screen with a real budget.
Even though I don't think The CW has done a good job with the show, I have always appreciated Grant Gustin's portrayal of Barry Allen and I think he has done a great job. I can't imagine how strange it would be for the actor to go to the DCEU for a film.
Seeing Grant Gustin play a different version of a character he has already played for eight years and a hundred hours is just weird. The actor would be leaving his CW cast and storylines behind, and he would be joining the film that already has a clear direction within the DCEU.
He would portray the character the same way. Allen would have to try to emulate Miller. Is he going to be playing CW Barry Allen without the rest of his cast?
None of this makes sense from a casting perspective, as much as I like the actor himself, and don't cry for Gustin who is making $200,000 per flash episode in season 9. The time has passed that the DCEU could have embraced the Arrowverse, but that would not be what it is now. Replacing Miller with another young actor would be much easier.
I think it's clear that Ezra Miller needs help, which is the main priority once his legal issues are sorted. They may not have a future within the DCEU due to their behavior thus far. I don't believe that the only choice to replace Miller is the guy who has already played The Flash for more than a decade, no matter how much fans want to see.
