Why do we have to respect Chanel House if it doesn't respect its clients?

Victoria Bonya, a Russian model, took a pair of scissors and cut a black quilted Chanel handbag in two.

She told her 9.3 million followers bye-bye as she threw the two pieces away.

Bonya is one of a group of Russians who have filmed themselves cutting up their Chanel handbags in protest at being barred from buying goods from the French luxury brand.

After closing its stores in Russia, Chanel stopped selling its products to people outside of Russia who were intending to take them into the country, a move that has prompted several Russian people to accuse the brand ofRussophobia.

The TV host and actor Marina Ermoshkina, who has 299,000 followers on the social media platform, used garden shears to cut up a dark gray handbag.

She wrote in her caption that not a single bag, not a single thing, is worth her love for her Motherland. I am against a brand that supports Russophobia.

She said that Chanel was just an accessory and that she would not tolerate discrimination against people on the basis of nationality. The main thing is principles, and not what is in your hands, but what is inside you.

A DJ with over 600,000 followers said she cut up her black handbag with scissors because she was following Ermoshkina.

She wrote in her caption that she always dreamed that a handbag would appear in her wardrobe, but after learning about the brand's policy towards Russians, she decided to remove the bags from her daily life.

I am against the brand which supports Russophobia and discrimination against women based on nationality. She said that Russian girls are beautiful even if they don't have a bag.

The people who accused them of making a big deal out of a fashion accessory during Russia's war with Ukraine received support from their fans.

In a statement sent to Insider on Tuesday, a representative for Chanel said the brand complied with all laws applicable to its operations and employees.

The representative said that they have rolled out a process to ask clients for whom they do not know the main residency to confirm that the items they are purchasing will not be used in Russia.

We apologize for any misunderstanding that may have been caused by the process of walking through the law.
