TikTok's first commissioned musical is taking center stage

A musical about TikTok won a gramophone. The social platform has commissioned its first musical.

Daniel Mertzlufft was behind the phenomenon that was Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical. Mertzlufft is a composer and self-proclaimed musical theatre fanatic who has been sharing behind-the-scenes bits from his upcoming musical on TikTok.

It is only natural that the story of For You, the musical written by TikTok, finds its roots in the company. In the musical, a teenage music nerd, played by Roman Banks, joins forces with his best friend, played by Sri Ramesh, on a TikTok song that goes viral. A TikTok community production is teeming with references to TikTok trends and other viral moments.

James Henry and Krystina Alabado are two of the other TikTok stars. The songs were written by Mertzlufft, Julia Riew, and others.
