Jo Rzymowska, the UK boss of Celebrity Cruises, said that the company is rethinking how it manages its travel partner accounts.
There has been a lot of change within the travel business, she said at the delivery ceremony of the newest Celebrity Edge-class ship. There has been a reset. We have never been one-size-fits-all but we are taking a look at our account management role and seeing if it needs to change as our business partners have changed.
There are a lot of new agents. A lot of people who have been out for a long time are coming back. Homeworking has become more of a norm for partners rather than a business.
She said there was a need to go back to basics and focus on building and re-building confidence.
There are three teams looking after three groups of partners. We are working with our partners to see if that is the best way to continue. We might need to change again now that we have always adapted.
Rzymowska said she would be taking over for Ruth Gardiner, who is moving to sister company Royal Caribbean.
She said that Celebrity Cruises' domestic sailings around Britain in the summer of last year helped to boost trading.
Last year's UK season brought in new-to-cruise. She said that over 34% of guests who traveled on those sailings were new to us and a high percentage have booked again.
Celebrity's standing in the UK market has grown, and awareness of the brand has grown. Silhouette is the best ship in the fleet.
She said that standardised rules across Europe would remove complexity and boost sales.
She said that the EU Healthy Gateways are looking to simplify things across Europe.
There are six ships sailing in Europe this summer. The last ship in the fleet to re-enter service in June will be Infinity, which will be sailing in the Caribbean.
