The Masters returned to full-capacity crowds for the first time since 2019, and with Tiger Woods returning, ticket marketplaces are seeing an increased demand for one of golf's most prestigious events.
StubHub's average price for a ticket was higher than it was in the previous year, according to Adam Budelli, a StubHub spokesman.
Budelli said that the Masters was a high event in itself because of Tiger's return from injury. We have seen a big spike in sales because of the rumors of Tiger after his practice round on Thursday.
Budelli added that if Woods were able to make the cut to play Saturday and Sunday, we would anticipate another spike in ticket prices.
The data shows that it has seen an increase in prices.
Thursday prices are $2,666.
Friday: $2,609
Saturday: $2,515.
Sunday: $2,759
Woods was seriously injured in a car crash outside Los Angeles on February 23, 2021. He told reporters in December that surgeons almost had to amputate his leg.
The first round will begin at 10:34 a.m. On Thursday, with South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen and Chile's Joaquin Niemann.
Pick a winner and compete for a chance to win $5,000. Pick your favorites.
The get-in price was more than $2,000 on StubHub. Budelli said the marketplace expects the prices to go up as the field gets smaller.
The Masters is a hot ticket in any year, but given the circumstances of the past few years with the Pandemic and Woods return, this weekend's event is sure to have more interest and more eyes.
