Paramount has confirmed that Picard's third season, which recently wrapped filming, will see the long-term. In both seasons one, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner have previously appeared as Will Riker, Data, and the Soong family.

Returning for the first time will be LeVar Burton as the Chief Engineer of the Enterprise, Michael Dorn as the Chief of Security and Gates McFadden as the Chief Medical Officer. The announcement includes a few snippets of how the cast will look in their return.

The return of John de Lancie as Q in the second season of the show is about as close to a return as fans could hope for. Whatever happened to the man? Wil's former ensign is nowhere to be found here, but perhaps there will be a reason for that in season three if we catch up with his mother.

The third season of Star Trek: Picard will be streamed on Paramount+.
