The wallet will have USB-C and a fingerprint reader.

The company formerly known as Square is working on a device that will allow people to safely own and manage their digital currency. Block's hardware lead, Jesse Dorogusker, posted an image of several devices on Wednesday, all seemingly including fingerprint readers and a charging port, as well as other things Block said it would include in its hardware wallet.

We have gotten a few details about the work that Dorsey's company is doing on the coin wallet. The company said that the hardware wallet would be part of the storage system and that there would be a mobile app for your phone. If you lose your wallet or phone, Block provided a breakdown of the recovery processes available. What you could do if you lost both would follow later.

As for the actual hardware, it looks a bit rocky, as he put it when he quoted the image. The devices in the image shared by Dorogusker are made to look like various types of stone, like marble and granite, and they have a slightly geometric shape.

It's hard to tell if the image is a design the company is considering or if it means we're close to launching. Block didn't respond immediately to The Verge's request for comment on a potential release date. We know of at least one person who won't be getting one, if it does come out soon, and that's his mom.
