Facebook won’t hold its F8 developer conference this year after pivoting to Meta

The F8 developer conference will not be held in 2022, according to the company.

We are taking a brief break in programming and will not hold F8 in 2022, while we gear up on new initiatives that are tailored towards the next chapter of the internet, and the next chapter of our company too: building the metaverse.

Theaugural business messaging event, dubbed Conversations, will take place on May 19th. There will be another Connect event later this year focused on the company's offerings.

Upcoming tech conferences are moving forward. Apple announced on Tuesday that the Worldwide Developers Conference will take place in June of 2022, while the I/O will take place in May. Both will be available online. The event is scheduled to take place in-person in early September.
