Panthers complete comeback with game-winner in OT (0:44)

The goal by Jonathan Huberdeau was the difference in the game. There is a time and a place.

10:55 PM ET

After falling down by four goals for the second time in three games, Jonathan Huberdeau had two goals, including the game winner in overtime, and the Florida panthers defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, 6-7, on Tuesday night.

It was the first time in franchise history that a 100 point season was recorded by a Panther. He was second in the league in scoring at 102.

If the season ends on Tuesday, the top seed in the Eastern Conference will be decided, and the league will be in for a good show. The game featured four goalies, two short-handed goals, six power-play goals, and fans of both teams on their feet most of the night.

It is amazing. The atmosphere was great and the team came back again. A good win.

Florida trailed New Jersey by six in the third period, but came back to win in overtime.

On Tuesday, Spencer Knight was called into duty, like Saturday, to relieve Sergei Bobrovsky. Knight allowed two goals on 21 shots. Four were allowed in 14 shots.

Knight came in and made some huge saves, and he came out with a big win.

In the other net, Toronto starter Kallgren allowed three goals before leaving with an injury, and Jack Campbell allowed four, including the overtime goal, in the loss.

Toronto's leading scorer, Auston Matthews, needed one goal to reach 55 for the season, which would be a single-season record for the Original Six franchise. He was one of the few stars not to score for either side. Toronto tied a franchise record by scoring five or more goals for the sixth straight game.

The Toronto coach said that the team goes from being on a break with a chance to make it 6-1 to not scoring and then having too many men on the ice.

Mitchell Marner had two goals and four points in the loss for the Maple Leafs, who had defeated the Lightning the night before. The regulation point against Florida gave them 96 for the season, good for second place in the Atlantic Division.

Florida has won eight of nine. Claude Giroux, the most notable acquisition at the trade deadline, posted his first goal as a Panther in the win.

As he pointed to the fans in his postgame in-arena interview on the bench, he said, "Let's keep it."

If the season ended on Tuesday, Florida would face the Washington Caps and Toronto would face the Bolts.

We have to figure out and sort a few things out defensively, because our structure just isn't there. We are finding ways to win. It will be hard to come back from four or five goals in the playoffs.
