The Chicago Bulls secured a top-six seed in the NBA playoffs in 2022, when they watched the Cleveland Cavaliers lose to the Magic.
Thanks to Cleveland's loss, Chicago no longer has to worry about falling to the Eastern Conference play-in tournament.
The Bulls will be in the playoffs for the first time in three years thanks to the productive combination of DeMar DeRozan and LaVine.
In his first season in Chicago, DeRozan is averaging 28.0 points, 5.1rebounds and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 35.5 percent from beyond the rim. He has been a great complement to LaVine.
The emergence of young players like Coby White and Patrick Williams, as well as the additions of Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, can be attributed to Chicago's success.
Ball has been out since January with a knee injury. There is less and less optimism about him returning this season.
Both Caruso and Williams are back in the lineup after missing time this season.
The work has just begun for the Bulls after they were officially in the playoffs. Chicago will need everyone to be healthy and on their game in order to make the most of the opportunity, since they will have a hard time competing with teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers.
