I rank the new first class product from Emirates as the best first class product in the world. In this post, I wanted to explain more about the new first class on the flight, so readers can ask about it.

There are ways to redeem miles for the new first class on one route to the United States.

What makes Emirates’ new first class special?

The introduction of the new first class at the end of last year made it the best first class product in the world. Only six seats are available in the new first class, which is only available on select Boeings. It is the most impressive hard product in the sky.

There are lots of first class suites with doors, but this one is fully enclosed. There are a lot of gadgets in this suite, from temperature controls in your private suite to lighting controls where you can choose the color and intensity of the lighting.

Which planes feature Emirates’ new first class?

Only nine of the 250 aircraft in the fleet feature the new first class seats. This cabin is the last one that the last nine Boeing 777-300ERs have. The planes have 888-492-0 888-492-0 888-492-0 888-492-0's registration codes.

How can you tell if your plane features Emirates’ new first class?

If you want to know if you're going to be on a plane with the new first class, look at the seat map. If the seat map shows eight seats in first class and two rows in a 1-2-1 configuration, then you're going to be on the old first class.

If the seat map shows six seats in first class, then you will be on a plane with the new first class.

If you are still a long time from departure, aircraft assignments are subject to change.

Which routes feature Emirates’ new first class?

Due to current travel restrictions, I'm not going to give you the exact dates, flight numbers, and routes that are scheduled for, but I will give you the information that is currently available.

Most of the time, the new first class between Dubai and the following destinations is flown on the new 777s.

  • Brussels (BRU)
  • Geneva (GVA)
  • Nice (NCE)
  • Paris (CDG)
  • Riyadh (RUH)
  • Tokyo (NRT)
  • Washington (IAD)
  • Zurich (ZRH)

There are many destinations that have the new first class scheduled, but there are also many destinations that have the new cabins replaced at the last minute. It's not unusual to see a route swapped to one of these planes close to departure.

The problem is that these assignments often happen within 24 hours, so there is no way to really bank on them. I check Flightradar 24 every couple of days to see if any of the new 777s are bound for a route to the US with award availability. If I see it, I would like to go back to Dubai, but it's not a priority right now.

Emirates 777s with the new first class sometimes fly to the US

Emirates new first class on Washington Dulles route

If you want to fly to the United States in the new first class, the only route that the airline consistently operates is to Washington. The flight is scheduled to be operated by the A380 after May 31, 2022. That could be adjusted again.

Many dates have award availability, so you can redeem miles for this flight. If you want to book this as part of a larger itinerary, you can, but it's not free. In light of higher oil prices, the carrier has increased its surcharges.

The route is supposed to feature the new first class, but there are no guarantees that this will stick because aircraft assignments are subject to change.

Will more planes get Emirates’ new first class?

Four years ago, the airline introduced its new first class, but only nine planes have it. Can we expect more planes to get this new product?

  • There are no concrete plans for Emirates to reconfigure any existing planes with the new first class product; while Emirates plans to reconfigure some existing 777s with premium economy and possibly a new business class, apparently installing the new first class isn’t part of the plan
  • Rather the new first class product will be rolled out on Emirates’ upcoming Boeing 777Xs, as the airline has 115 of these planes on order
  • The catch is that Emirates was supposed to start taking delivery of the 777X in 2021, but that has now been delayed until 2024 at the earliest, and the airline has even threatened to cancel its order if Boeing can’t become more reliable (then again, there aren’t many alternatives)
  • Emirates also has A350-900s and Boeing 787-9s, but those aren’t supposed to feature first class

It seems like we shouldn't expect any more planes to feature the new first class for another three years. Hopefully the management of the airline will change their mind and make some planes with these seats 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465 888-282-0465. I think it's unlikely since airlines are trying to conserve cash right now.

How do you redeem miles for Emirates first class?

Skywards is the best way to redeem miles for first class. Skywards has transfer partners with all major points currencies.

The small cabin of the new first class plane can make it difficult to get an award. We see one seat released in advance, and then more as the departure date approaches.

If you book a business class award with Skywards, you can upgrade to a first class seat on the plane and get the last seat availability.

Upgrading to Emirates first class is easy day of departure

I rank the new first class product from Emirates as the best in the world. It's only available on nine aircraft, so a lot of first class passengers won't get to experience it.

Hopefully the above will give you an idea of what makes the product special and what routes you can find it on. Washington Dulles is the only place in the United States where the new first class is offered frequently.
