A new software bug in the software of the car stereos of the owners of the car is causing them to blast at full volume, in a risk to safe driving and possibly even their physical wellbeing.
WholeMarsBlog pleaded with Musk to issue an emergency fix for the bug that turns the volume up all the way. The volume shouldn't go from silent to 100 percent.
Musk acknowledged the issue.
He said that he had learned of it and that it would be patched soon.
It's another instance of customer support being fulfilled by the CEO himself, which shows Musk's interest in the product.
The bug appears to have been around since at least March 28, and Musk only learned about it now.
There is a bug in the latest update of the car company that occasionally restarts music at the absolute maximum stereo volume.
He added that it was super cool.
There are a number of users on the forums who have complained of a similar issue recently.
One customer wrote in a forum post this week that if his phone isn't silent, he gets into the car.
One forum user wrote in a separate thread that it was seriously annoying and scares the heck out of him.
It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence that it took Musk responding to a random tweet to actually address the issue, but it's par for the course for the electric car company.
Elon says he has never heard of the issue, according to one of the owners.
