According to Queen City News in Charlotte, North Carolina, Cawthorn was cited for driving 89 mph in a 65 mph zone after he was pulled over in Buncombe County. Cawthorn said the car was his, then appeared surprised when the officer told him the vehicle was registered to his father. The officer said it looked like it was registered to your dad. Queen City News obtained a dash cam video from when Cawthorn was pulled over. He was cited for driving in a 70 mph zone. Cawthorn's car was pulled over last month in Cleveland County for drifting over the center line. He was charged with driving with a revoked license. It is not clear why his license was revoked. The officer in the January video was very nice, even though Cawthorn was driving a car that wasn't registered to him and was speeding. He told the congressman to be careful when he backs up.
