We know why Hailie Deegan didn't participate in last week's Freedom 500.

Deegan, a full-time NASCAR Truck Series driver and one of the few female drivers in the sport, posted a video to her YouTube account late Monday saying that she skipped the race in fear for her life.

Deegan said she missed the race because she saw a post from a fan who was threatening to kill her boyfriend.

Deegan says in the 15-minute video that his official words were not that he was going to kill Chase, but that he was going to come.

Deegan explained that she missed the event because of a personal matter between her and Cabre.

Tony Kanaan was replaced by Hailie Deegan for two races in Tony Stewart's new racing series.

NASCAR rising star Hailie Deegan is looking to earn respect.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is up next.

A few minutes into the video, Deegan, who was voted the Most Popular Driver last year, says that she wrote a letter to her truck team.

Deegan had dealt with stalker situations before, so he was a bit scared.

A catfishing activity is when a person creates a fake identity on a social networking service.

They say anything they have to to get money out of that person, according to Deegan.

Deegan said that the fake account accused Cabre of holding her hostage, beating her and physically abusing her.

Deegan says in the video that there is no truth to that. This guy gets wrapped up in this whole deal and thinks Chase beats me.

Cabre, who is in the video with Deegan, said that he saw another threatening social media post after dinner.

The 30-second sound bite from the alleged person threatening Cabre was played in the video.

Cabre says someone who lives, but not too far away from where it would be possible, makes him a little worried. Then, Hailie said, "let's call the cops."

Local authorities stayed with the couple 24/7. Deegan, who said she first noticed alarming posts from the alleged person late last year, said everything they posted was death-related.

The authorities stayed with the two all night after she screenshotted the posts.

The messages have gotten worse over the last two weeks, Deegan says in the video.

Deegan admits that she is being scared after she said the couple reached out to the person to say the account is fake.

She says she went to the extent of messaging him to break down the situation. My boyfriend does not beat me. I am on TV all the time and we do everything together. I was explaining the whole thing to him, trying to break it down to him, and he seemed to be accepting it at first.

The person had second thoughts, thinking they were messing with the other account.

The couple said they contacted FBI agents, NASCAR security and filed police reports.

Cabre says to stop watching the video. I am just saying that it is over. It is not real. Just leave it alone.

It has become a nuisance in our life and we don't know what to do.
