The science buildings on the College of the Holy Cross campus in Massachusetts will be renamed in honor of one of the school's most famous graduates.

The Anthony S. Fauci Integrated Science Complex will open on June 11.

Dr. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and President Biden's top medical adviser, will be at Holy Cross for the reunion. The National Institutes of Health didn't respond to the request for comment.

The president of Holy Cross said that they were thrilled to celebrate Dr. Fauci in such a public and enduring way.

Dr. Fauci was a classics major at Holy Cross and had a pre medical concentration. He spoke to Holy Cross Magazine about how Jesuit education had influenced his career.

One of the things I learned when I briefed President Ronald Reagan was that he had to make a decision when he spoke truth to power that he didn't want to be liked. That is not true. It's fundamental adherence to truthful principles that you learn with a Jesuit education.

During Holy Cross's 2020 graduation ceremony, Dr. Fauci talked about his Jesuit education.

He said that the Jesuit spirit of intellectual rigor was pervasive.
