He has never hidden his love for comic books. He starred in a trilogy of Blade films that helped pave the way for the X-Men and Spider-Man movies. The comic book realm is getting a new project from Snipes.
The Exiled is a comic book/graphic novel that will be written by Snipes and his Maandi House Studios. The story was co-created by Snipes and Arem. The script and colors for the comic will be written by Lawson and provided by Bianconi.
Niles is a detective who is hunting a serial killer after a deadly gas attack. The killer is using tools over five thousand years old to rip the spine from his victims. Roach's instincts keep pushing him forward even though the world ignores his theories. With enemies on all sides, he wades into the darkness to find the killer.
The announcement of the project was shared by Snipes.
Comics allow you to explore big worlds. I have been drawn to origin stories and developing characters. I get to build Roach as a character from the ground up.
It is possible that there is interest in having Snipes portray Roach in a potential TV or film adaptation of The Exiled. That is something for the future. The 140 page graphic novel will be crowdfunded on June 21. The official site has more information about the project.
