Kayvon Thibodeaux could still go off the board early in the draft.

According to Peter King of NBC Sports, the Detroit Lions like the elite pass-rusher and could pick him with the second pick.

It was a close call between the Oregon star and his eventual choice, but King had him dropping all the way to 10th in his mock draft.

During his three-year college career, he totaled 19 sacks and 35.5 tackles for loss.

The most ridiculous thing I have heard is that I am not the best player in the draft.

With the numbers and what I can do as far as my ability, I have confidence in what I can do.

The 6'4'', 254-pound athlete is the No. 1 overall player in the class according to Bleacher Report.

There are still questions about his effort, with Todd McShay reporting in February that he heard that he just doesn't play with the same fire as some other top prospects.

The Lions had a defense that ranked 31st in points allowed last season and they have to hit on the pick. Detroit has been in the top 10 for the fourth year in a row. The team has gotten mixed results with some players.

The Lions were open to trading down from 2 and had dialogue with a couple of teams.
