The Lakers star should be criticized for actions he said were beneath him, according to the man known as the greatest player of all time.

The use of a meme equating COVID-19 to the common cold and the flu was written about by Abdul-Jabbar earlier this season.

He said the criticism was born out of high expectations for James and how he addressed issues of inequality.

If he would take the time, I would be happy to do it. I had the time to speak with him, Abdul-Jabbar said. Is it possible to send a whole school to college? Wow. That is amazing. You have to give him credit for his willingness to back it up with his wallet.

I am not throwing stones. He should be embarrassed about some of the things he has done. That is where I am coming from.

James was not able to play against the Nuggets because of an ankle injury. He is listed as day to day.

James did not directly address Abdul-Jabbar's criticism about his use of the Spider-Man meme.

James didn't have a response to Kareem at all. We are all trying to figure out what is going on. I think people forgot about the flu because we are all trying to figure it out. People forgot about the flu. That is still going around. This is flu season. People forget about the flu. People forget about colds. That happens. A lot of our kids are in school. A lot of the kids in my daughter's first grade class are getting colds and the flu.

I don't have a response to Kareem. At all.

The first Social Justice Champion Award was given to Carmelo Anthony. The league unveiled a trophy that Abdul-Jabbar helped design.

The NBA fined James $15,000 for his celebration in Indiana because it was obscene.

I think he has so much going for him in terms of respect and accomplishment that he shouldn't stoop to those moments.

James is trying to overtake Abdul-Jabbar for the top spot on the league's all-time scoring list.

I am all for him doing it. He should be careful with the issues that affect the Black community. That is all I am asking.
