An obituary states that Terry Wayne Wallis, the man who spent 19 years in a coma before regaining consciousness, has died. He was older.

According to the obituary published by Roller Funeral Homes, a car accident in 1984 left him in a coma for six weeks after the birth of his daughter.

Doctors thought he would remain in a coma. He started talking in 2003 because he thought no time had passed. According to news reports from the time, he first recognized his mother and asked for milk and soda.

He graduated to anything he wanted to say, according to the caretakers.

He became known as "The Man Who Slayed for 19 Years", inspiring headlines like "Miracle in Arkansas".

During his time in a coma, his mother and entire family visited him, the obit said.

The obit said that Wallis loved drinking and eating.

He liked listening to live music when his brother was playing. Terry was fond of teasing his sister. His sense of humor will be missed by his family.

His mother passed away. He is survived by his family.
