David Leitch lost his job as director of Fast and Loose a week before the Oscars after he starred in Fall Guy. The film is scheduled to start production in August.
Sources told the outlet that Leitch's withdrawal prompted the streaming service to put out an urgent call for another director, but soon after Smith's controversial actions at the ceremony, they shifted it.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Sony stopped work on Bad Boys 4, in which Smith had a role.
