SNL showed a different angle of that slap, and it was hilarious. Chris Redd played Will Smith perfectly, as he chatted with a fan before hearing a joke. It is manic, believable and funny. We will not give you the blow-by-blow, but you should watch the video. The show delivered several times during the program and did the slap as predictable as the sunrise. The skit plays off real-life, with Will laughing at Chris Rock's joke, then becoming enraged and crying on stage. Manic seems to be the correct label. The one thing that got the waterworks going was when Will made a comment about Red Table Talk. Smith apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees, but not to Rock, in his Best Actor acceptance speech. Smith apologized to Rock on Monday. Smith resigned from the Academy because he was facing a suspension or expulsion. Michael Che and Colin Jost got in on the action, saying that intelligence officials are saying that Vladimir Putin is being misled by his advisors about how badly the Russian military is performing. It sets a terrible precedent for having to defend your wife at awards shows. Che noted that during his acceptance speech after winning the Best actor award, King Richard said that love will make him do crazy things. Then there is this. Smith could join others who have been kicked out of the Academy, such as Bill Cosby, Roman Polanski, and Harvey Weinstein. Maybe the funniest joke of all time. Che said that Chris Rock didn't know about Jada's hair loss. Can we stop pretending that everyone knows Jada had hair loss? As much as we have heard about Jada and Will's personal lives, you can't expect us to keep everything. It is similar to the words "Don't act like y'all don't know I have sclerosing disease".
