How I'm Styling Sneakers This Fall - Gal Meets Glam

Just a few years ago, I never would have imagined that sneakers would become some of my favorite shoes in my closet. They're hard to beat when it comes to comfort, but what finally convinced me to embrace them was the flood of options that look as chic as they are comfortable. I dabbled in pairing sneakers with dressier looks for a while, but when we moved to New York part-time and started walking absolutely everywhere, sneakers became weekly staples in my closet. After realizing how much I loved each of those outfits, I now don't hesitate to reach for my favorite sneakers, whether I'm pairing them with denim, a dress, a skirt and top, or crisp white pants.

One trick for styling sneakers with everyday looks is making sure that the styles you choose complement the clothes that are already in your closet. I'm always keeping an eye out for simple, low-top sneakers in shades of white, cream, and pink, since I've found that those are what I gravitate toward most often. I can always count on these sneakers to keep my whole outfit true to my personal style. Even if I'm wearing a sneaker that feels a little more athletic (like my APLs or Tretorns), or edgy (like the Golden Goose sneakers you may have seen me in countless times), there is a good chance I'm wearing one of the most feminine-looking options the brand has available. That may mean a blush or crisp white hue, a subtle pop of pattern, or a luxe material.
