While preparing to lay to rest their loved one after a tragic accident, the family of Tyre Sampson has made a statement about someone claiming to be the teen's cousin.

According to an email shared by the Sun-Sentinel, the mother of Sampson told detectives that she didn't know who the woman was. No one in the family knows who this alleged cousin is.

Shay Johnson, known to the media as Shay Johnson, has emerged as a voice advocating for justice for the 14-year-old Missouri teen. She spoke at a memorial and provided the media with much needed insight into what happened that fateful evening.

In the hours following the teen's death, Johnson told media that he called her excitedly about getting on the FreeFall ride, even though he was denied entry on two other rides earlier in the evening.

He called me. They will let me ride. I can ride. I can ride! the imposter said. I didn't know this would be my last conversation with him.

She was angry that the operator allowed the teen to ride despite the weight restrictions. He couldn't get on the slingshot. Why did you allow him to get on this if he was overweight?

I hate that they didn't turn him down, I feel like they just looked at him.

Lavonia Browning is believed to be the cousin of Sampson. Court records and interviews were confirmed by the local paper.

Records obtained by the local outlet show that Browning had been jailed at least four times in Orange County, including on charges of domestic violence and driving with a suspended or revoked license. She gave a false name and ID to the deputy who pulled her over.

She was released on bond after being arrested in December for setting a car on fire. Browning is waiting for a trial.

Local reporters were able to identify where the woman used to work. She was an entertainer for five years at the flash dancers bar.

The establishment's owner William Sierer, who has Browning on file as Lewishena Browning, felt terrible about his former employee's actions.

There are no plans to charge Browning because she has not committed a crime and she has not received money from the high school football player. No arrest will be made based on this information.

Johnson gave a phone number to the press.
