Ukrainian photojournalist covering Russian invasion was killed near Kyiv with 'small arms fire': report

The New York Times reported on Saturday that a noted Ukrainian photojournalist who disappeared last month while covering the Russia-Ukraine conflict has been found dead.

Over the years, Maks Levin, a 40-year-old photographer and videographer, has worked for many Ukrainian and international publications.

He went missing while reporting in a conflict zone with a colleague.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, the body of a man was found in the village of Huta Mezhyhirska on Friday.

He is survived by his family.

According to the office of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General,Levin was killed by small arms fire and the act was carried out by Russian military forces.

An investigation is ongoing into the death of Levin.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Oleksiy Chernyshov has not yet been located.

According to The Times, before he vanished, he published a set of images on his Facebook page where he showed the residents of his home being evacuated, with many of them wearing white cloth to signal their civilian status.

He wrote on the page that it was like a horror movie.
