At halftime of the Michigan spring game, Colin Kaepernick threw to a group of people who were not signed by an NFL team.

The San Francisco 49ers quarterback was invited to the University of Michigan by coach Jim Harbaugh, who was a mentor to him. He was joined by Spike Lee, who is making a documentary on Colin Kapernick as he tries to find a spot on an NFL roster.

The reporter for WXYZ spoke with the quarterback on the field about his decision to throw.

The exhibition was to show that I can still do it. It is one of the questions my agent keeps asking, so we want to make sure we come out and show everyone I can still play.

He believes he can make a team better and help them win games. If it takes a backup role for him to return to the NFL, Colin Kaepernick is open to it.

During his time in Ann arbor, he spent time with the Michigan players and was able to throw with the quarterback.

Growing up in Reno, I was a 49er fan. McNamara said that he had thrown with Harbaugh a couple times this week. He can sling a rocket. He has been respectful to me.

If an NFL team is willing to have him, he would be willing to do sit-down interviews and a workout. He was hoping the workout would show scouts that he can still play.
