The future of Europe's use of nuclear powered energy was in doubt before Russia invaded Ukraine, and it just got worse for France.

The electric grid manager in France asked the public to reduce their electric consumption because of a cold front. The nation may not be able to provide as much power as it needs because of increased energy demands.

Energy Dependence

The US and Europe have tried to reduce the amount of gas and other energy products they import from Russia. European utility costs are on the rise.

Russia has been bombing gas lines and critical infrastructure in Ukraine. President Putin has disrupted the region's energy infrastructure from two angles, while less product is imported, and more infrastructure is destroyed.

To Nuke or Not to Nuke

Europe's energy future was in doubt before the war in Ukraine. The Belgian Green Party supported taking most nuclear power plants offline. The party broke its agreement this month and allowed the plants that were scheduled to shut down an extension.

Producing energy is no less dangerous because of the ongoing conflict with Russia. The countries want to distance themselves from Putin.

To nuclear or not to nuclear? Either way, Europe could go.

The investigation found that Putin was always accompanied by a cancer specialist.
