Denzel Washington Explains His 'Devil' Quote After Will Smith Slap

When chatting with Will Smith, he invoked the wicked one after Chris Rock slapped him at the Oscars.

The legendary actor explained what he meant when he told Smith, "Be careful, that's when the devil comes for you." It was during a leadership summit with author and pastor T.D. Jakes.

The topic of the Oscars was brought up and Jakes responded by saying it was necessary.

When the devil comes at you, it may be because you are trying to do something right. For whatever reason, the devil got a hold of him that night, and he was attended to by others, including Tyler Perry, who prayed with them both.
