New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau announced Saturday that forward Julius Randle will most likely miss the rest of the season because of a quad injury.
The Knicks have five games left on their schedule.
In the 2020-21 season, he averaged 24.1 points, 10.2 rebound and six assists per game, while shooting 45.6% from the floor and 41.1% from deep. His performance helped lift the Knicks into the playoffs, but this year has been different.
The 27-year-old has struggled with his shooting all season, and has averaged 20.1 points on 41.1 percent shooting from the floor and 30.8 percent shooting from deep in 72 games.
The Knicks are 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 34-43 record, and part of that is due to the struggles of Randle.
Obi Toppin will get his first taste of extended playing time against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
