Defense Department announces additional $300 million in weapons and medical aid for Ukraine

A new $300 million package of security aid was announced by the Defense Department on Friday.

The latest package will include tactical drones, armored vehicles, secure communications supplies, machine guns, and field equipment, provided with funds allocated to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.

The United States continues to work with its allies and partners to identify and provide additional capabilities to the Ukrainians.

The United States has given more than $1.6 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia invaded the country over a month ago, according to a statement from the Department of Defense.
