Yaroslav Amosov, who has put his professional career on hold in order to serve his native Ukraine, posted a video of himself recovering his 170-pound title belt during the Russian invasion.

Amosov posted several videos and a picture of himself with a military unit holding the belt. Irpin is a town located just outside of the capital of Kyiv. Irpin was taken from the Russian army by Ukrainian forces.

Amosov usually lives in Irpin.

Amosov was scheduled to defend his title against Michael Page in London on May 13 but withdrew from the bout in February to defend his country. He is one of several combat sports athletes who have retired from boxing.

Amosov emerged from an underground room with a bag that held his strap. Amosov said his mother hid the belt where it survived the bombing.

Amosov said in February that he had evacuated his family to a safe zone and pledged todefend this country as best he could. The interim title fight will be between Page and Storley on May 13.
