The estate is named after a renowned architect. The American wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art was designed by Atterbury in his day.

He told The Wall Street Journal that the mansion was a total wreck when he bought it in 2019.

Christopher Burnside of Brown Harris Stevens told Insider that Walentas worked with a team of architects and designers to have extensive renovation works done on the home over a period of two years.

The entire interior had already been stripped down to the studs when Mr. Walentas purchased the property in 2019.

He said that every detail was poured over by the team and was checked through a system of approvals to ensure it kept within the original design.

The cost of the home is higher than the median listing price of homes in the area. The median list price is more than $2 million and the median sold home price is more than $1 million.

Walentas did not reply immediately.
