The Perseverance rover was spotted by the MRO soon after it landed on the martian surface last year.

The Ingenuity helicopter has been picked out by the HIRISE camera.

Ingenuity is small compared to the car-sized rover, and therefore difficult to spot up high.

We can make out the flying machine in the recently released image.

NASA uses a helicopter to assist Perseverance in his explorations while at the same time gathering data to help engineers develop a next-generation Mars drone.

Two hundred meters to the east of Ingenuity is where Perseverance can be found.

Perseverance can be seen on the fractured bedrock of the Máaz Formation, a feature believed to be of the volcanic origin.

Perseverance is looking for evidence of ancient life on the martian surface and gathering rock samples for return to Earth. It is hoped that other discoveries made by the rover will help NASA better plan for the first crewed mission to Mars, though no firm date has yet been set for that particular endeavor.
