A Memphis man was indicted for premeditated first-degree murder after he kidnapped a man in a wheelchair, shot him to death, and dumped his body in a field. A man and a woman were kidnapped outside of a grocery store on Horn Lake Road. Akins was in a wheelchair. The other man and Nichols took Akins from his wheelchair at gun point and put him in a green SUV. The video shows them leaving the grocery store in the car with the wheelchair. Two days later, a father and son were riding four-wheelers in a field in the 2000 block of West Shelby Drive when they found Akins' body.
