According to reports, former NBA players Tim Hardaway and Swin Cash, as well as former NBA coach George Karl, will be in the Basketball Hall of Fame later this year.

The news will be officially announced Saturday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

After a 16-year NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs, Ginobili was elected on the first ballot. His candidacy is unique because he spent most of his career playing a sixth-man role. His two All-Star selections are among the lowest in the history of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

He was a near-lock from the moment he retired because of his brilliance on the international level. The best player and emotional leader of Argentina's international team, Ginobili led his country to a gold medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics and a bronze four years later. Argentina is the only country other than the United States to have won a gold medal in the Olympics.

A beast. His competitive spirit is second to none and he never gives in and plays with a lot of passion, according to former teammate Patty Mills.

Hardaway played for the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, and Indiana Pacers over the course of 14 seasons. He averaged 17.7 points and 8.2 assists over the course of his career, making five All-Star teams and earning five All-NBA selections.

Hardaway will be in the Hall of Fame. He would have been in sooner if he had not made anti-gay comments.

Hardaway said during the interview that he hates gay people. I am gay. I don't like it. It should not be in the world or in the United States.

Hardaway apologized and worked as an advocate for the LGBTQ community.

I hurt a lot of people's feelings and it came off the wrong way, and it was really bad of me to say that. My parents used to tell me to look in the eye if I did something wrong. Don't back down from it and be afraid of it. I made people understand that you made a mistake by making it right. I'm trying to support gay people and trans people.

Cash was named to four All-Star teams over the course of her career with the Detroit Shock, Seattle Storm, Chicago Sky, Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty. She helped lead the United States to two gold medals in the 2004 and 2012 Summer Games, as well as winning four times in the NBA's now-dead Shooting Stars Challenge.

Cash won two titles and was the 2002 NCAA Tournament Most Oustanding Player while at the University of Connecticut.

Karl and Huggins are mirror images of one another at different levels of the sport. Both have had great success, with Karl ranking sixth on the NBA's all-time coaching victories list and Huggins ranking eighth on the Division I men's college coaches list.

Karl made only one trip to the NBA Finals in his coaching career, while Huggins never made it to a national championship game.

Both known for their demanding styles, Karl and Huggins rarely made friends among opposing coaches and sometimes within their own locker rooms.
