It can still be difficult to pair with it's 2022. The Echo Buds do what they can to make it easy to pair with your device. Just open the charging case with the app open and it will do all the work for you.
The integration is easy to use. If you already have a voice assistant in your home, you will get extra mileage out of these earbuds. Don't worry if not. They are compatible with both of those. The WIRED associate editor used them all day and turned their assistant into a personal assistant. It gave him reminders to get up from his desk, played news updates, gave weather reports, and was able to control music on his phone.
