Despite being released by the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month, Bobby Wagner will be staying in theNFC West next season.
The Rams announced Thursday that they had agreed to terms on a five-year contract with Wagner.
The deal is for $50 million and can be worth up to $65 million if he reaches incentives, according to sources.
It will be a return to Los Angeles for Wagner. The Rams already have a star- studded defense that includes defensive tackle Donald and Cornerback Ramsey.
Before he signed with the Rams, the Baltimore Ravens were in the running to sign him.
The last remaining member of the star- studded defenses that led Seattle to its lone world championship and a return trip to Super Bowl XLIX was Wagner.
A 170-tackle season earned him his eighth Pro Bowl nod in 10 seasons, and he is the all-time tackles leader with 1,383. He missed all but one snap of the last two games with a knee injury.
In his second year with the team, he recorded an interception, a sack, a forced fumble and five passes defended, which earned him a second-team All-Pro selection.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame named 22 defenders to the All-Decade Team for the 2010s. He has six first-team All-Pro selections, two second-team All-Pro selections and eight Pro Bowls, tying him for second most in franchise history.
