Do you want fries with that? Passengers may soon be able to fly on jumbojets powered by renewable fuel made from used cooking oil, according to a new press release.

A380 test aircraft took off from an airfield in France and completed a three-hour flight on sustainable aviation fuel. The used cooking oil and waste fats that were used in the production of the SAF were stated to be by the company.

We asked if it smells like french fries.

Matthieu Duvelleroy, a member of the communications team, confirmed during a phone call Thursday morning that it had a distinct odor of cooking oil.

Heating Up

A key point of the presser was that all of the aircraft are certified to fly with fuels made of up to 50 percent SAF. According to a February Fortune report, 130,000 people are expected to work for Airbus in the next two years, which is more than Boeing.

A lot of sustainable cooking oil fuel could be found in a lot of the Airbus planes. It feels good that someone is making strides toward a more renewable future as the Earth warms and the coral reef bleaches in the ocean.

The experts are confused by the video of jet diving.
